EnOcean Alliance highlights energy saving potential of smart technology at SMART BUILDING EXPO 2023

/ Press Releases

Milan, 7 November 2023. The EnOcean Alliance will attend the SMART BUILDING EXPO 2023 in Milan, 15-17 November, showcasing the latest wireless products from its partners, and how its innovative technologies can help Italian companies and municipalities meet the country’s environmental ambitions.

SMART BUILDING EXPO is the only Italian trade fair dedicated to plant and technology integration in homes, buildings and cities. The European House – Ambrosetti Report 2023 has emphasised how retrofitting Italian buildings with efficient and smart technologies can help the country improve its environmental performance. Smart building technology could lower annual energy consumption by 20-24% and water consumption by 4-5%, and smart building conversion could also save 12-14 billion euros or 20-22% of Italian house expenditures.

The potential for saving using smart building technology is immense, both in Italy and globally, and EnOcean Alliance and its partners will be on hand to showcase the latest maintenance-free, wireless solutions for smart automation that are ideal for both new and retrofit projects. EnOcean Alliance is a coalition of companies with products based on the wireless EnOcean radio standard (ISO/IEC 14543-3-10/11), with a focus on improving Smart Homes, Smart Buildings, and Smart Spaces.

Visitors can meet EnOcean Alliance at booth G24 in Hall 6P, where organisation members and partners will also present their latest innovations for smart automation. Participants on the EnOcean Alliance booth will be EnOcean, Eltako and NIR SIR. EnOcean Alliance partners exhibiting at their own booths will include Thermokon Sensortechnik, Distech Controls, Vimar, Molex, WIT, Belimo and Siemens.

“Buildings consume 40% of energy and emit 36% of total greenhouse gasses in Europe, making the smart building solutions presented by our Alliance members at SMART BUILDING EXPO ideal to enhance sustainability and help reduce CO2 emissions,” commented Graham Martin, Chairman and CEO, EnOcean Alliance. “We estimate that equipment containing EnOcean technology is saving over 1.4 million tons of CO2 per year across the globe, and we are continuing our developments to help users to save even more.”
