/ Press Releases

San Ramon, CA, US/ Paris, France– March 9, 2017 – The EnOcean Alliance and Vertuoz by ENGIE join forces to develop intelligent building solutions and build bridges towards a global network in the Internet of Things.

Through the partnership with the French energy giant, the ecosystem of the EnOcean Alliance continues to grow and promotes the standardization of intelligent building solutions for the Internet of Things. Vertuoz by ENGIE is now a key player in the EnOcean Alliance, actively supporting the further development of EnOcean energy harvesting wireless standard for energy-efficient building solutions. As an EnOcean Alliance promoter, Vertuoz contributes with its expertise in the field of monitoring and optimizing the energy efficiency of buildings to the broad ecosystem of the EnOcean Alliance.

Vertuoz by ENGIE, to enhance the energy performance of buildings for a better user ex-perience
At a time when the digital revolution is meeting the energy transition, Vertuoz by ENGIE is con-vinced that the professions are changing and that the customer’s needs are numerous and constantly evolving. This is why Vertuoz by ENGIE is a smart building operator and relies on its Vertuoz platform – which has become a multi-service, multi-site, multi-date sources monitoring and control platform – that makes it possible to utilize all the building’s data to make it smarter, more efficient and therefore more comfortable for its occupants.

Vertuoz has recently adopted EnOcean technology and is in the process of renovating 140 schools in Paris, which will save up to 30% energy through renovation of buildings and boiler rooms, installation of a remote smart energy performance monitoring and control system using temperature sensors, CO2 sensors, occupancy sensors, switches and valves which are all based on EnOcean wireless and batteryless standard, 15.000 connected objects. A total of 42 schools have already been renovated and the work will continue during the school holidays in 2017 and 2018.

Graham Martin, Chairman of the EnOcean Alliance, comments: “We are very excited to welcome an industry leader such as Vertuoz by ENGIE as a new promoter member in the EnOcean Alliance. Vertuoz by ENGIE´s commitment to monitoring and analysing building energy consumption, helping to create greater awareness of environmental issues and energy costs reinforces the goals of the EnOcean Alliance.”

The EnOcean Alliance, which has more than 400 members, is one of the most successful alliances in the area of intelligent building control. The non-profit organization standardizes and develops intelligent building solutions integrating energy harvesting wireless technology.

EnOcean-based sensors and devices operate large numbers of IoT devices efficiently and supply reliable data to IoT systems. Furthermore, the EnOcean Alliance offers the benefit of a broad, proven ecosystem of interoperable energy harvesting wireless sensor solutions, which are available for intelligent buildings worldwide. These solutions help optimize the utilization of buildings, create new service models and make buildings more flexible, more energy-efficient and altogether more cost-effective.

At ISH 2017 (14 to 18 March, Frankfurt am Main, Germany), Vertuoz by ENGIE will be exhibiting at the community stand of the EnOcean Alliance (10.3 B69) and will demon-strate its innovative services and technologies for increasing efficiency and comfort in smart buildings.

About Vertuoz by ENGIE

Created in 2012, Vertuoz by ENGIE is a platform of digital services to go beyond building energy management.
In a context of rising energy costs and greater awareness of environmental issues and under the impetus of new regulations, Vertuoz gathered the expertise of several ENGIE entities around a central goal: develop a web solution for monitoring and analysing building energy consumption and provide comfort and new services to building users. Placing itself as the central engine of a virtuous dynamic, Vertuoz leads an open network of partners to supply its BtoB clients with innovative solutions.

ENGIE develops its businesses (power, natural gas, energy services) around a model based on responsible growth to take on the major challenges of energy’s transition to a low-carbon economy: access to sustainable energy, climate-change mitigation and adaptation, and the rational use of resources. The Group provides individuals, cities and businesses with highly efficient and innovative solutions largely based on its expertise in four key sectors: renewable energy, energy efficiency, liquefied natural gas and digital technology. ENGIE employs 154,950 people worldwide and achieved revenues of €69.9 billion in 2015. The Group is listed on the Paris and Brussels stock exchanges (ENGI) and is represented in the main international indices: CAC 40, BEL 20, DJ Euro Stoxx 50, Euronext 100, FTSE Eurotop 100, MSCI Europe, DJSI World, DJSI Europe and Euronext Vigeo (World 120, Eurozone 120, Europe 120 and France 20).
